Welding Supervisor #2803
70-year-old custom machine builder based just outside of Green bay is looking to add to their highly motivated long term manufacturing team. This rare opportunity is strictly reserved for career minded, technically sophisticated Supervisor of welding, who has a passion for creating non-existent parts for existing large scale machines
In search of a Welding Leader that has GMAW, GTAW, GMAW-C, FCAW welding experience.
Must have the ability to read and follow instructions of fabrication prints used to construct components/ weldments.
Must have the ability to oversee and train others within the cell.
Ability to work with other section leaders and teams to achieve the overall goals of multiple projects.
Must have ability to read and understand welding symbols
Must have the skills and prior experience welding to AWS D1.1 Code, AWS D1.6, as well as ASME Section IX.
Advanced welding abilities with a minimum 5-7 years’ experience
Ability to straighten weldments for machining
Must have a basic knowledge of machine shop operations.
Overhead crane and forklift operation will be required
Ability to accurately use all measuring instruments and tools
Experience with Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Aluminum, and Exotic metals required.
Experience in welding nuclear and/or food equipment is a plus
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
Must have safe rigging skills (chains and slings)
