Welder (Large Assemblies)
A custom machine fabrication operation is in growth mode! A company that designs and builds custom machines for clients in aviation, healthcare, mining and manufacturing is looking for a Machine Assembly Lead.
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Precision and attention to detail with speed in mind
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Ability to effectively interact directly with customers
Desire to shift work schedule/put in additional hours as required to meet deadlines
Safe rigging skills (chains and slings)
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Must have ability to read and understand welding symbols
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Ability to straighten weldments for machining
Demonstrated ability to properly sequence and accurately assemble parts
Ability to accurately use all measuring instruments and tools
Must have the skills and prior experience welding to AWS D1.1 Code, AWS D1.6, as well as ASME Section IX.
Advanced welding abilities with a minimum 3-5 years experience
Candidates that have GMAW, GTAW, GMAW-C, FCAW welding experience.
Experience in welding nuclear and/or food equipment is a plus
Fabricator/Welders must have the ability to read and follow instructions of fabrication prints used to construct components/ weldments.
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Must have a basic knowledge of machine shop operations.
Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
Overhead crane and forklift operation will be required
Experience with Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Aluminum, and Exotic metals required.

She brings her vast knowledge and expertise in procurement, supply chain, contract administration and project management to the firm. She is a creative and natural problem-solver with proven success in developing and implementing new procedures and processes as well as integrating newly acquired subsidiaries.
Now, she’s using her expertise to build a network of solid relationships in the medical device and precision machining industries that help hiring managers find the top talent they need to improve their organizations.
Paula is Lean Six Sigma certified (Green Belt), has a Master of Science in business management and a Bachelor of Science in education.
